Prescription Refill Procedures
We are happy to refill prescriptions for chronic or seasonal problems over the telephone at no charge as an extension of being under our care unless Dr. Pillsbury feels he needs to see you. We ask that you call at least 24 hours before you need the refill in order to give us time to contact your pharmacy and the pharmacy time to fill it.
It is also important to note that some insurance prescription drug plans require pre-authorization. It may take longer for these prescriptions to be filled since Dr. Pillsbury has to submit a written request to your insurance company stating the medical need for the particular prescription and allow time for your insurance company to process and approve the request. We will submit the necessary paperwork in a timely manner in order to expedite the request so you get your medication as soon as possible.
When you call us needing a refill, we will need the following information:
*The first and last name of the patient
*The medicine name, dosage, and frequency
*Your telephone number where you can be reached during the day
*The name and telephone number for your pharmacy
